- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Research and Development Center (ERDC), Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) single source award to ISOCLIMA Specialty Glass, LLC, 500 Grant AVE, PO Box 739, East Butler, Pennsylvania, 16029 for the purchase of ISOCLIMA Airblast Glazing. The Structural Mechanics Branch (SMB) of the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) of the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is conducting R&D for The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to design, develop, analyze, prototype, integrate, and validate innovative building envelope systems as well as characterize, mitigate, and defeat multi-dimensional threats. This R&D has primarily focused on developing, demonstrating, and delivering innovative technologies for hardening of building structural and fenestration systems such as walls, roofs, windows, doors, etc. DHS uses a specific window glazing layup to protect critical assets within the U.S. To ensure product consistency and durability, DHS has requested Airblast testing of full-sized window glazing layups. The full-sized windows will be subjected to airblast testing which represents the current state of practice for homeland security threats. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) code is code 327215, Glass Product Manufacturing Made of Purchased Glass, with a size standard of 1,000 employees.
