Description
The General Service Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), AssistedAcquisition Services Division (AASD) has received a requirement to provide a bridge task orderfor research and development (R&D) engineering services, hardware development, and testingfor air and ground-based weapon system technologies to identify current threats, systemvulnerabilities, and develop solutions in support of the Technology Development Directorate(TDD) of the Combat Capabilities Development Command, Aviation and Missile Center(DEVCOM AvMC), located at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama. The nature of this action is to secure authority to continue support for no more than 12 months,by awarding a Time and Materials (T&M) Task Order with a six (6) month base period and a 6-month Option to Extend Services in accordance with FAR clause 52.217-8. The current taskorder expires March 5, 2023, with no additional options available to extend services. While afollow-on effort is being procured by US Army Contracting Command Redstone Arsenal(ACC-Redstone), the projected award date of this follow-on effort currently falls on May 30,2023, which is after the current task orders expiration date. Due to the gap between this taskorders expiration date and the follow-on efforts projected award date, the client requested abridge to allow for continued performance with no break in service. Based on the clientsunderstanding of the potential award timeline and taking into account anticipated milestoneslippages and the elevated post-award protest risk where a CICA Stay/Stop Work Notice couldbe issued for the performance of the follow-on award, the client requested the period ofperformance (PoP) for this bridge be structured as a 6-month Base Period with a 6 monthExtension of Services (EOS) option.
