- Description
- NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Rollout Purge units (RPU), associated accessories and training. NASA intends to procure Rollout Purge Units (RPU) to meet Space Launch System (SLS) Block 1B system requirements on Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) and will be compatible for use on ML1. Two (2) RPUs will be used (one primary unit & 1 stand-by unit) on the ML during rollout from the VAB to the launch pad and rollback to the VAB to provide conditioned air to the Service Module (SM) and Launch Abort System (LAS) on the Space Launch System (SLS). The RPUs will sit on the ML deck and interface with NASA-provided air ducting, electrical power supply and network communications After ML arrival at the Launch Pad the RPUs will be removed from the ML Deck for launch operations. The contractor shall provide all resources and materials necessary to provide, test, and deliver two (2) RPUs and Associated Air Bearing Pallets (ABP) (3rd units optional) and other deliverables listed in the Statement of Work (SOW). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.� � This acquisition is a total small business set-aside. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 333415 and 1250 employees, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFPis on or about March 10, 2023 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about May 9, 2023. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
