- The United States Postal Service has awarded Commercial Air (CAIR) Transportation Services for domestic mail to and from destinations within the contiguous (CONUS) forty-eight states as well as non-contiguous (O-CONUS) states and other U.S. territories and possessions to include points in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as deemed necessary. The term Postal Service also includes its suppliers operating under terminal handling or other transportation contracts with the Postal Service. The Statement of Work (SOW) provides for transportation of mail on any flight in the supplier's air transportation network. It also provides for services associated with the transportation of mail by the supplier. The air carrier's network or transportation system may include its own flights, flights of its subcontractors, and Road Feeder Service (RFS). The resulting six (6) contract(s)� are Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract(s). The specific type is definite delivery, indefinite quantity with fixed pricing per pound. The fixed price per pound is comprised of four main components: Line Haul (Fuel and Non-fuel), Ground Handling, Terminal Handling - Sortation, and Terminal Handling - Scanning. The base period of performance for the ensuing six (6) contracts is three years, with a two-year priced option period. The period of performance for each period is stated below: - Base Period: March 04, 2023 through March 03, 2026 - Option Period: March 04, 2026, through March 03, 2028 (if exercised)
