Description
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Tactical Technology Office (TTO) is sponsoring a Proposers Day to provide information to potential proposers on the objectives of the SPeed and Runway INdependent Technologies (SPRINT) X-Plane Demonstrator program in support of a planned Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). The Proposers Day will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Strategic Analysis, Inc. Executive Conference Center (ECC), 4075 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time (ET). Check?in begins at 8:00 a.m. ET. Advance registration is required. The objective of the SPRINT program is to design, build, certify and fly an X-plane to demonstrate enabling technologies and integrated concepts necessary for a transformational combination of aircraft speed and runway independence for the next generation of air mobility platforms. The SPRINT X-Plane is intended as a proof-of-concept technology demonstrator. The SPRINT X-plane project will validate technologies and integrated concepts that can be scaled to different size military aircraft, provide these aircraft with the ability to cruise at greater than 400 knots at relevant altitudes and hover in austere environments (near unprepared surfaces). First flight of the X-Plane demonstrator is desired within 42 months of contract award. Phase 1A is six months in duration and focuses on conceptual design and requirements/interface definition. Phase 1A includes a conceptual design review. Phase IB will mature the X-plane design through more sophisticated analyses, simulations, component testing, subsystem testing, manufacturing planning and flight test planning and includes a preliminary design review. Phase 2 will include detailed design, build, ground test and certification of the X-Plane Demonstrator. Phase 3 is the X-plane flight test program which will validate the enabling technologies and integrated concept at an appropriate scale and in a flight environment.
