Description
AFC Welcome Center Request for Information This notice serves as a Request for Information (RFI) for the interior design and branding concept of the Army Futures Command (AFC) Welcome center. This does not constitute a commitment, implied, or otherwise, and does not constitute a solicitation or request for proposal. This RFI is for planning purposes. Further, neither AFC nor the Government will be responsible for any cost incurred in furnishing this information. Any submission pursuant to this RFI is at the sole expense of the vendor. Additionally, any materials/white paper or rough order of magnitude (ROM), etc., submitted hard copy, will not be returned, and will not be shared outside of the office of the requester. Headquartered in downtown Austin, TX AFC transforms the Army to ensure war-winning future readiness. AFC maintains and operates a space designed to introduce itself to the greater non-military community, industry, and academia visitors through an immersive experience. The goal of the welcome center is to enhance a visitor's experience while at AFC by creating spaces that enables communications through a well-designed environment. One of the goals of this area is to provide a learning environment for guests to enhance their understanding of AFCs mission and its accomplishments as we transform the Army. The space calls for future focused tools and techniques with interactive learning equipment, exhibits and other products to truly enhance the futuristic and state of the art vision of the command. The work may involve travel to Austin to collaborate with staff, inspect sites, assess existing conditions, design drawings and plans, tender documents, and quality assurance for interpretive exhibits, wayside exhibits, directional signage, and other interpretative media. For the purposes of this RFI, exhibit is defined as including, but not limited to, any one of the following or combination thereof: exhibit panels and platforms, information desks and informational interpretative/wayfinding signage, artifact display cases or mounts, tactile elements, cabinets for multimedia programs, digitally printed labels and graphics, printed or painted murals, floor graphics, scale models, full-size models, reproduction props, dimensional maps, dioramas, sculpted or cast human figures, exhibit audiovisual equipment, exhibit computer interactives, embedded exhibit videos and audio programs, and interactive touch-screen programs, custom mechanical interactives, exhibit lighting, and audio visual presentations. Vendor is asked to provide a ROM/ general cost estimate, by completing line items as outlined in attachment A. A floor plan, photos and estimated dimensions of the AFC Welcome Center are provided on attachment B and a recorded video walkthrough of the space is available to be emailed upon request. In addition to the ROM, vendor is asked to provide a capability statement, a brief description of the space concept, examples of recent projects and a list of any active federal contracts under which the vendor is a prime or subcontractor. AFC is open to alternate suggestions to showcase its insignia, to include shifting or changing the location of non-permanent fixtures. Vendor should identify any relevant intellectual property considerations. Interested vendors must submit completed RFIs by 24 March 2023. Point of contact for this RFI is the AFC Marketing Integration manager at hamilton.a.lopezcruz.civ@army.mil, 270-304-1574.
