- The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Ann Arbor Medical Center VISN 10,22215 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor MI 48105, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b), awarded a contract on a sole source basis with the University of Michigan for the services of a senior faculty research consultant with expertise in in quantitative thoracic CT analysis. NAICS 541614 and PSC code AJ11 apply. The vendor will analyze CT scans and associated data sets that have been de-identified per approved protocols. The activities outlined in this PWS are estimated to require approximately 2 hours per week of effort or 5% FTE. Individuals providing expert CT analytical consultation will also provide support to include: Assistance with conceptualizing and drafting manuscripts related to implementation science; Attend regular meetings with the project team, including the principal investigator(s), project manager, qualitative data team, and intervention staff, to provide subject matter expertise as needed Complete and maintain all mandatory VA research trainings, including but not limited to human subjects, data security, and privacy trainings, and ensure that these trainings are current in accordance with VA policy. Several unique features require the services of the affiliate, Dr. Galban s team at the University of Michigan. First the analytical team at the University of Michigan developed and maintains the PRM methodology required for the study. These measures they have created are not yet in the public domain and not available anywhere else. Second, the CT analytical team at the University of Michigan has substantial experience performing quality control metrics on the CT scans to ensure they are of sufficient quality to be included in the research study. Third, the CT analytical team at the University of Michigan has expertise in performing additional statistical analysis on results derived from PRM which are necessary to proceed with the generation of publication-quality figures and data tables that will accompany scientific manuscripts that result from this work. VA may enter into non-competitive contracts with affiliated educational intuitions (as defines in 38 U.S.C 7302. For this requirement the affiliated educational institution is the University of Michigan.
