- Description
- Statement of Need- Philips IntelliVue G7 Anesthesia Gas Modules Anesthesia gas modules work in conjunction with the anesthesia machines anesthetizing VA Philadelphia s Veterans requiring surgery or special procedures. The veteran population of VAMC Philadelphia include a wide range of ages and diagnoses and the gas modules used during procedures allow for the safe delivery of anesthetics to veterans. The Philips IntelliVue G7 gas modules are compatible with the current Draeger anesthesia machines, as well as the Philips MX700 patient monitors at the Philadelphia VA. The anesthesia department is purchasing four (4) Philips IntelliVue G7 gas modules for anesthesia care in offsite locations and specialty areas to comply with National Anesthesia Directive 1220. The four Philips gas modules will allow the recently acquired Draeger Fabius MRI and Tiro machines to be fully operational in offsite locations. Since the department currently uses Philips G7 gas modules on every Draeger Tiro machine, anesthesia staff, technicians, and Biomedical engineering department are trained on how to use the gas modules on the Draeger anesthesia machines. This will prevent disruption to veteran care since additional resources are not needed for training. The purchase of the four Philips IntelliVue G7 gas modules allow for continued standardization of anesthesia practices throughout the hospital. Purchasing Philips brand gas modules provides consistent operation at all locations (main OR, MRI, or ancillary areas) and allows users to respond intuitively during emergency situations. The Philips G7 Anesthesia Gas modules are compatible with the Philips MX700 patient monitors used in all anesthetic locations. The gas modules are portable, snap right on to the machine, and do not require extra cabling. The modules provide real time numerical data for the anesthetic gases being delivered. Without the purchase of the Philips IntelliVue gas modules, four anesthesia machines would be out of service and veteran care would be greatly impacted. Salient Characteristics of IntelliVue G7m Anesthesia Gas Module Fits in both high-or-low acuity environments- no extra cabling or mounting hardware is needed. Modules can be shared between monitors and continue monitoring intubated and sedated patients in the OR. Rotatable water-trap that is reusable and drainable. Delivers real-time data- provides numerical values, waveforms, and trends for sevoflurane, isoflurane, halothane, desflurane, enflurane, and N2O. Automatically detects mixed agents. Calculates alveolar concentration (MAC). DISCLAIMER This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation.
