- Description
- As Cte dIvoire grows into an emerging economy after decades of economic and political instability, the country faces significant health challenges. HIV prevalence is 2.9 percent among the general population, 15 to 64-year-olds, and much higher among key and priority populations, including female sex workers (FSW) and men who have sex with men (MSM), at 11.4% and 12.3% respectively. The preliminary 2022 UNAIDS Spectrum model estimates that in 2021 a total of 374,290 PLHIV, including 15,936 children living with HIV (CLHIV) and approximately 15,000 pregnant women, need ARVs. An estimated 292,252 PLHIV (78%) are on treatment, resulting in an ART coverage gap of 82,038 PLHIV. The annual incidence of HIV is 0.023%, resulting in 5,995 new HIV infections in 2021 (619 among children). An estimated 8,356 AIDS-related deaths occurred in 2021 in Cte dIvoire (509 among children). USAIDs Health Office in Cte dIvoire implements the full continuum of HIV service delivery programs to address these challenges and seeks an Integrated Health Service Delivery Team Lead to oversee the HIV direct service delivery efforts. Through the PEPFAR program, USAID is undertaking a comprehensive, multisectoral approach towards the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Cte dIvoire that expands access to HIV prevention, testing, care and treatment services. USAIDs PEPFAR programs in Cte dIvoire include community-based support for HIV services, facility-based service provision, supply chain strengthening to ensure access to lifesaving treatment, orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), key populations (KP), and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) programs, evidenced-based combination prevention programming, and strategic information analysis. USAID partners with other USG Agencies, the Ivorian government, the private sector, civil society, and non-governmental organizations to provide services to people living with HIV and AIDS and those most at risk with an overall aim to help control the epidemic through targeted programs and partnerships. The Integrated Health Service Delivery Team Lead will lead HIV care and treatment, community mobilization, prevention, and behavior change communication programming in Cte dIvoire, with HIV/AIDS programming as the largest programmatic component. The successful candidate will combine technical leadership, interpersonal skills, strategic vision, and programming experience with a proven track record of producing results.
