Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Kohler Generator Maintenance Kits for the National Logistics Support Center in Grandview, MO. The Government intends to make an award to the responsive responsible quoter providing the best value in accordance with FAR 13.106-2(B)(3).� This is a brand name requirement. Brand Name Justification Using another brand is not an option because that item would have to go under a strict functions and environmental testing to make sure it supports the consumable spares and Logistics replacement parts for ASOS that are required to be form, fit, and functionally identical to the parts currently deployed on fielded systems. As this acquisition supports Logistics replacements for Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) Acquisition Control Unit (ACU) data Collection Package (DCP) Communication. This part has been recommended by Kohler as suitable and has been approved by NWS engineering Corp for use. DOC, Eastern Region Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). No award can be made to a company not registered in SAM. Contractors active in SAM have a unique entity identifier (UEI) that is used to do business with the federal government. The Government has moved to a free new, non-proprietary identifier that will have to be requested in, and assigned by, the System for Award Management (SAM.gov).
