- Mobile/Deployable F35 Lightning Protection System The Wisconsin Air Nation Guard has a requirement for a mobile lightning protection system approved for use with the F-35 mission design series aircraft. �The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334419 � Other Electronic Component Manufacturing with a size standard of 750 employees.� Specific objectives for this requirement include: The purpose is for the government to obtain a mobile lightning protection system approved by Lockheed Martin for use with the F-35 aircraft. Mobile/Deployable Lightning Protection System should have the following characteristics: ��� �Capable for rapid deployment. ��� �Capable of being assembled by a team of 2-3 personnel without significant technical training. ��� �Capable of set-up and installation without tools. ��� �Fully compliant with NFPA70 requirements for lightning strike termination. ��� �The system must break down for compact storage and transportation in a carrying case. ��� �Incorporate ballast a system to withstand wind loads equivalent to 120 mph (193 km/h). ��� �All fasteners and installation hardware must be engineered to avoid FOD hazards. ��� �Must be approved by Lockheed Martin for use with the F-35 aircraft. The Wisconsin Air Nation Guard is conducting this Sources Sought to identify contractors who possess the capabilities to develop/provide a mobile/deployable lightning protection system as specified above. If your firm may be interested in this requirement, please respond to this sources sought. Also, this sources sought will also be used to determine small business set-asides for qualified small business under the NAICS code 334419 (750 employees) according to https://www.sba.gov/sites/default/files/2022-12/Table%20of%20Size%20Standards_Effective%20December%2019%2C%202022_508%20%281%29_0.pdf., should a solicitation be issued.� Please complete and Return the attached Sources Sought Response to assist in evaluating interested firms as well as qualified small business status. Your responses will assist the Government in the development of its acquisition strategy for a possible Request for Quote (RFQ), to be issued at a later date, and in determining whether any type of small business set-aside is possible for this procurement or whether full and open competitive procedures should be utilized. This notice shall not be construed as an RFQ or as any commitment or obligation on the part of the Government to issue a solicitation. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request, so quotations will not be considered. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. Response is strictly voluntary - it is not mandatory to submit a response to this notice to participate in any formal RFQ process that may take place in the future. However, it should be noted that information gathered through this notice may significantly influence our acquisition strategy. All interested parties will be required to respond separately to any solicitations posted as a result of this sources sought notice. Submission Instructions: Responses via email are due on March 29, 2023, at 1:00 PM CST to Major Dave Mattila/ dave.mattila.2@us.af.mil and must include the information requested below. Late responses will not be accepted. This is strictly market research, and the Government may not respond to any questions. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Qualified firms shall submit a statement of interest on company letterhead demonstrating the firm�s qualifications develop/provide a mobile/deployable lightning protection system as specified.
