- Description
- The 2023 United States Navy NAVSUP Supply Corps Senior Leadership Symposium (SCSLS) is to discuss current NAVSUP and Navy initiatives and strategic planning for the NAVSUP Enterprise. This symposium is intended to discuss challenges and opportunities, align with regard to message and vision, and plan the way ahead for the NAVSUP Enterprise. This symposium is intended as a community gathering, for networking and mentorship, so a self-contained facility that can handle all lodging, food service, and meeting needs is essential so that all attendees will remain on site for the entire extent of the conference dates. SCSLS will begin on the morning of Wednesday, 01 November 2023 at 0730, and will end on Friday, 03 November 2023 (at 1230 for the larger group, and 1700 for the reservist attendees). Lodging will be available for attendees from 31 October 03 November 2023. Breakout rooms available from 0800 on 31 October until 1700 03 November 2023. SCSLS will be hosted in a self-contained facility that can handle all lodging, food service, and meeting needs by the Chief of Supply Corps within the National Capital Region (NCR). The boundaries of this area are recognized as the District of Columbia; Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in Maryland; Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties in Virginia; and all cities and towns included within the outer boundaries of the foregoing counties. The venue needs to accommodate approximately 250 participants. Because of the size of the group the venue needs to have lodging and group dining facilities that are accessible within walking distance. Getting from the lodging to the conference room to the group dining facilities all should be accessible from within the venue. Attendees should not have to exit a building to access the different locations. The venue needs to offer guests lodging and group dining facilities. Costs for lodging and meals need to be kept at government per diem rate. Approximately half of the conference attendees are from the East Coast. Holding the conference in the NCR keeps overall cost for transportation low.
