- ITEM 1: U/W Bow Thruster Zinc Anode, Renew 1.� SCOPE 1.1� Intent.� This work item describes the requirements for the Contractor to renew U/W bow thruster zinc anodes and install new bow zinc anodes listed in Table 1. None. 3.1.2� Tech Rep. Not Applicable 3.1.3 Protective measures.� The Contractor must furnish and install all protective measures in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0000, (Vessel component, space, and equipment protection). 3.1.4� Interferences.� The Contractor must handle all interferences in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0000, paragraph 3.3.5 (Interferences). 3.1.5 �Welding requirements. �The Contractor must perform all welding and allied processes, and NDE in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0740. 3.1.6� Diver services.� The Contractor must provide diver services to install zincs in Bow Thruster Tunnel in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0740. 3.1.7� Work locations.� The concerned work area is listed in Table 1. �See the Coast Guard Drawings in Section 2 References for guidance, locations, and details.� 3.2 �Zinc removal.� The Contractor must remove and dispose bow thruster zinc anodes listed on Table 1 in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0740. �Dispose removed zinc anodes in accordance with all Federal, state, and local regulations. 3.3� Bow thruster anodes renewal.� The Contractor must install bow thruster anodes listed in Table 1 as shown on Coast Guard Drawing 750-WMSL-633-001 and Figure 1. 3.3.1� Crop off and scrap existing six (6) zinc anodes on in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0740.� Existing installed anodes welded on type. Grind all sharp edges down smooth to the adjacent surface. 3.3.2� Supply and install stainless steel mounting studs listed in Table 2 to mount bolt on type zinc anodes in accordance with 750-WMSL-633-001, NAVSEA Dwg 803-921865, Figure 1 and SFLC Std Spec 0740. Mounting surfaces for bow thruster zinc anode must be bare metal cleaned. Apply anti seize compound, conforming to (CID) A-A-59313, to studs before the zinc anode are installed. Nut must be tighten to 35 Foots/Pounds of torque. 3.4 �Electrical resistance testing.� The Contractor must measure the electrical resistance between each new zinc anode surface and adjacent metal ship structure, utilizing an OHM meter and a scale, to ensure that it is less than 0.1 ohm.� Submit a CFR. 3.5� Documentation .� The Contractor must provide photograph of each anode installation in the bow thruster tunnel with CFR. 4.� NOTES location will be�32nd Street naval base, Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal, or Broadway pier san diego ca 92101
