- Description
- NASA/GSFC shall design, build, and test a Space Qualified Rover Lidar (SQRLi) for use on planetary missions similar to the VIPER lunar rover or Perseverance Mars rover. To that end, NASA has identified the Optotune MR-10-30 scanning mirror as a critical enabling component to meet lidar system level requirements. However, as a commercial product the Optotune MR-10-30 requires some design modifications, analysis and support in order to meet the demanding environmental requirements of space flight planetary missions. Procurement shall include 25 engineering samples (20 to support testing and 5 delivered to NASA) along with associated design models, build of materials and support analyses. The scanning mirror shall be proven to meet SQRLi requirements with preliminary reliability, thermal, and vibration testing. The scanning mirror assembly shall be delivered with closed loop and amplitude control. A notice of NASAs intent to award this sole-source action was synopsized on the GPE website (Sam.gov) per FAR Subpart 5.2.
