Summary of Scope of Work: The work consists of completing detailed dredging and disposal work to remove sediment, primarily river cobbles, from three dam spillways on the Snake River in Washington State. After the successful removal of sediments, the contractor will produce and deliver high resolution survey data collection deliverables, augmented with dive inspection data, to inform USACE engineers of the current condition of each spillway. This data must be suitable for USACE engineers to compile detailed condition reports and assessments of each spillway to prescribe appropriate maintenance and repair actions necessary to preserve the safety and operability of each dam. To successfully capture suitable survey data and produce the required survey deliverables, the stilling basins must first be thoroughly cleared of debris and sediment to expose the stilling basin concrete surfaces. Clearing the stilling basin surfaces will involve the use of dredging equipment, in close coordination with divers, to clear, survey, inspect, and thoroughly document the condition of each stilling basin. Two in-water disposal sites will be used to receive dredged materials: Joso and Swift Bar. Joso Is located near river mile 57 and Swift Bar near river mile 95.5. The following table lists the sites proposed for dredging in 2024 and 2025 and the estimated quantities of material to be removed from each site. Sediment is expected to continue to accumulate at these locations while this action is being planned, therefore the amount of material to be removed at the time of the dredging will likely be greater than what is shown in the table. The Corps anticipates the quantity of material needing to be dredged will be approximately 36,150 cubic yards.
