- Fish Pump Gearbox Rehab Notice of Intent to Sole Source W9127N23Q0035 Agency: Department of the Army Office: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Location: USACE District, Portland Synopsis: This is a special notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 �Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions� US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District intends to negotiate/award a sole-source, contract with Timken Gears & Services Inc. 935 1st Ave STE 200 Kind of Prussia, Pennsylvania 19406-1342 United States (CAGE: 17454). The purpose of this requirement is to perform on site refurbishment of a PG 3532 SBVHX Fish Pump gearbox at the John Day Project area utilized for operation of their fish ladder.� The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is FAR 13.106- 1(b)(1)(i) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 and DFARS 206.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements. A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED. The Government intends to proceed with this sole source action. The size standard as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration is 750 employees. Timkin Gears & Services Inc. (DBA Philadelphia Gear) is considered a Large Business under this standard.� � THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quote to the contracting officer before the notice end date.� If no affirmative written responses are received by 11:00 AM Pacific Time on April 11th, 2023, an award will be made without further notice. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Electronic responses and questions shall be submitted via email to Michael.E.Saldana@usace.army.mil.
