- Description
- The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) requires a comprehensive K-5 Mathematics solution to provide aligned core instruction (Tier 1), core intervention (Tier 1/differentiation) and strategic intervention (Tier 2), to support hands-on learning, problem solving, mathematical discourse, conceptual development, procedural skills practice, and application of strategies. The instructional materials shall include print and digital resources that are aligned to the College and Career Ready Standards-Mathematics (CCRSM) and include formative and summative assessments. Physical manipulative resources shall be included for all grades. Strategic intervention (Tier 2) is provided, as needed, in addition to core classroom instruction (Tier 1) and core intervention (Tier 1 differentiation), thereby increasing the total amount of time students receive mathematics instruction. DoDEA requires curricular resources (textbooks, ancillary materials, etc.) including an initial 5-year subscription for digital and consumable resources for teachers and students, all of which are based on the CCRSM for grades K-5.
