Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 09, hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole source, one (1) firm fixed-price contract for one each of the following items: (1) USA Power Cord for ESG, (Part No: WA95622A), (2) Footswitch Double Pedaled, Wired (Part No: WA91301W), (3) Footswitch Double Pedaled, Wireless (Part No: WA91302W), (4) ESG-410 Electrosurgical Generator, (Part No: WA91307C), These products are made by Olympus and sold by Olympus America, Inc., Medical Systems Group, 3500 Corporate Parkway, Center Valley, PA 18034.8229. The contract is expected to be awarded in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically, FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303 2. A Justification under for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been prepared. The anticipated award date is 14 April 2023. The contractor will provide these products to the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Center at the Troy Bowling Campus, 1101 Veterans Drive, Lexington KY 40502-2235. NAICS Code: 339112 Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing (SBA Size Standard 1000 Employees) PSC: 6515 Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement within three calendar days after publication of this notice. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Department of Veterans Affairs will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice of intent. Only written responses will be considered. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this notice of intent, the Government shall determine if a solicitation will be issued. Any prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award. Interested parties are encouraged to furnish information by email only. Any documents submitted will not be returned. All interested parties shall submit clear and convincing documentation demonstrating their capabilities to satisfy all the requirements listed above to John E. McDaniel, Contract Specialist, by email at John.McDaniel1@va.gov, NO LATER THAN 7:00 PM CDT, on 5 April 2023. The capability documentation should include general information and technical background describing in detail the prospective contractor's capabilities and experience that will demonstrate the ability to support these requirements.
