Requests for copies of a solicitation will not receive a response. This Notice is for planning purposes only and is not a Request for Proposal or Request for Quotation or an obligation on the part of the NIST for conducting a follow-on acquisition. NIST ����does not intend to award a contract based on this Notice, or otherwise pay for the information requested. No entitlement or payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by NIST will arise as a result of submission of responses to this Notice and NIST use of such information. NIST recognizes proprietary components, interfaces and equipment, and clearly marked restricted or proprietary components, interfaces and equipment, and data included as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information. In the absence of such identification, NIST will assume to have unlimited rights to all technical data in the information paper. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS EXIST AT THIS TIME. NIST is seeking information on small business concerns that can provide maintenance and repairs for NIST Fire Engine 753B 2005 KME Class A Pumper. The work should be completed at a qualified shop within a 90-mile radius of NIST, 100 Bureau Dr Gaithersburg MD 20899, as the Engine will need to be driven to said qualified shop. SPECIFIC TASKS Task 1: Engine 753B Repairs Outside Body 1.������ Remove all lettering, stripping and lighting on the unit 2.������ Sand and body work all dents, scratches and the hole on front Officers side 3.������ Prime and seal body worked areas 4.������ Paint entire truck current white color 5.������ Buff out any blemishes in new paint 6.������ Reinstall all current lighting 7.������ Restripe Engine to match Front line Engine 753 8.������ Remove and replace rear hard sleeve door and latch; replace with new one to match Interior Compartments 1.������ Sand both sides, back and bottom of compartments 2.������ Coat both sides, back and bottom of compartment with a black bed liner material Note: All compartments will be empty when truck is being worked on Frame Rails 1.������ Remove spring stops at the location of the heaviest rust on frame rails 2.������ Remove as much rust as possible with Needling, Wire wheel and sand blasting on both frame rails 3.������ Paint entire frame with Rust Inhibiter material such as POR 15 4.������ Replace structural steel tubing under the center rear tailboard with new steel tubing as per the existing specifications Other Items 1.������ Remove Fuel tank and replace with new one due to heavy rust 2.������ Remove the two Air tanks that have not been replaced with new 3.������ Check for air leaks after tank repairs 4.������ Clean rust off ladder rack, prime and paint silver to match current color. Desired Measurables To have Engine 753B return with NFPA and DOT compliant updates including a quality new paint and stripping scheme, all rust remediated with inhibitor material installed, new parts as stated above, and compartments protected with liner material. (End of Specific Tasks) NIST is seeking responses from all responsible small business sources under the size standard of $12.5 million dollars associated with the applicable NAICS code, 811310 - Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance. Please include company�s size classification and socio-economic status in any response to this notice. Companies able to provide such services are requested to email a detailed response describing their abilities to yolanda.mccray@nist.gov no later than the response date for this source. The report should include any information relevant to your capabilities and the following: Name of company/companies that are authorized provide services, their addresses, and a point �of contact for the company (name, phone number, fax number and email address). Number of days, after receipt of order that is typical for delivery of services. Indication of whether the services are currently on one or more GSA Federal Supply Schedule contract or any other government-wide contracts. If so, please provide the applicable contract number(s). Indication of whether the services proposed is a commercial item currently offered in the marketplace. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in developing its minimum performance requirements.
