Description
Army Futures Command Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center, WSEC - Benet Laboratories Directorate, Watervliet Arsenal, New York is conducting market research to determine the capability of businesses to provide a Metallographic Vibratory Polisher to ensure availability for crucial material analysis. � The contractor shall provide a Metallographic Vibratory Polisher capable of polishing material samples suitable for Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). -Electronic touch pad controls with variable vibration control -Digital vibration amplitude indicator -12�inch / 305�mm bowl with a variable amplitude, vibratory drive system -Quick-change polishing bowl, made of PVC material and secured in place with T-handle bolts -Drive mechanism shall produce nearly 100% horizontal vibratory motion with virtually no vertical motion -The primary polishing action shall come from 7,200 cycles per minute of horizontal motion. -The transparent, protective hood shall be removeable. -Electrical Requirements: 110 Volts, single phase, 60 Hz -The system must not require an external water or air supply -Vibratory action must naturally rotate specimens such that the operator does not need to monitor the equipment; allows operator to �walk-away� -Allow for the preparation of up to 18 mounted specimens simultaneously Approximate Size Limitations -Overall Width:�� 18�in / 457.2�mm -Overall Depth:�� 22.5�in / 571.5�mm -Overall Height:�� 14�in / 355.6�mm Sound Requirements -Measurements must be taken without load and the hood closed, approximately one foot from the machine -Ambient Sound�������������������������� 60�dB -At 30% Vibration Amplitude���� 62�dB -At 50% Vibration Amplitude���� 63�dB -At 100% Vibration Amplitude��� 65�dB Additional System Features -Sample Holder Loading Fixture -Power Cord -Operating Instructions Optional Accessories to Include -Specimen Holder, size 1.5�inch / 38.1�mm, set of 3 holders � Qty (2 sets) -Specimen Holder, size 2�inch / 50�mm, set of 3 holders � Qty (2 sets) -Loading Fixture, 2�inch / 50�mm, Qty (1) -Specimen weights with associated studs (specific to the polisher supplied), - Qty (9) weights -Polishing Bowl Accessory DISCLAIMER �THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
