- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health/Health Effects Laboratory Division/Physical Effects Research Branch (CDC\NIOSH\HELD\PERB) on behalf of the Office of Acquisition Services (OAS) hereby announces its intent to sole source a firm fixed price purchase order to the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Bioengine, 4420 Bayard Street, #306, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. University of Pittsburgh, Department of Bioengine is the only vendor with a background and education in ergonomics and biomechanics, especially evaluating effects of ergonomic interventions using biomechanical assessments; musculoskeletal mechanics, especially related to different industrial tasks; and that has the highly specialized equipment and software to perform occupation-related kinematic and kinetic analysis, of which is required to perform the services the Government requires. This proposed order is to procure services to prepare a pilot testing protocol, conduct the pilot tests, and perform a preliminary analysis of the experimental data. This order is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(ii). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICs) code for this procurement is 541380 � Testing Laboratories. This is not a request for competitive quotations: however, the Government will review any/all product, capabilities, and pricing information submitted prior to the closure of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested vendors that believe they can meet these requirements are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notice by providing a capability statement to the Contract Specialist by May 20, 2023.
