- This is a pre-solicitation notice and not a request for quote, proposal, or invitation for bid, and as such, any additional information as to the size and/or scope of the project will not be available until the issuance of the RFQ. No award will be made from the pre-solicitation notice, nor will any proposals, quotes, or bids be accepted from this notice. Any submittal will only be accepted after the posting of the solicitation notice. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Please do not email requesting additional information until after the posting of the solicitation notice. General Information The solicitation is anticipated to be issued in or around�June 2023.� The contract is anticipated to be awarded in September 2023. All dates are tentative and for planning purposes only.� The resulting contract shall be a Firm Fixed-Price contract. The solicitation shall be a Total Small Business Set-Aside.� The solicitation will be a Request for Quote (RFQ). To be eligible for contract award, a firm must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database. Register via the SAM Internet site at https://www.sam.gov/SAM/. Project Information PROJECT TITLE: Repair Reservoir Cover and Install Filtration System PROJECT LOCATION: Fort Pierce, FL (Picos Road Farms) NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM CODE: (NAICS): 237110 SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD: $45M The anticipated magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory (Picos Road Farms) in Fort Pierce, Florida has a requirement for repairing an existing reservoir cover and installing a filtration system. General Scope (further details will be made available with the RFQ)- The contractor shall replace an existing torn reservoir cover and install a filtration system to filter out reservoir contaminants before the reservoir cover can be removed and a new cover installed. The filtration system must be incorporated to an existing delivery system, capable of filtering the full flow from all three irrigation pumps running at full speed plus 10% as a safety factor 1400 gpm per pump, 4200 gpm total flow. The filtration system shall be capable of connecting to the Irrinet control system and of backflushing independently of the control system. The new system shall be tied into the current irrigation pump system and mainline and be tied into the well feed for emergency use, there shall be a booster pump in the line between the well feed and the filter station to facilitate irrigation when the main pump station or reservoir feed in unavailable. The booster pump shall have a minimum capacity of 1500 gpm. All connections shall be valved. All plumbing connections must be of adequate size so minimum pressure loss is attained. The filter station must be configured so that it fits in the space allotted and can be easily connected to the existing infrastructure. The filtration shall be by stainless steel medial filtration tanks, filled with the appropriate silica media sand and gravel.
