The work includes installation of approximately three miles of HDPE waterline. The waterline in areas may be buried, hand trenched, placed on the surface, anchored to bridges or guardrail, and directionally drilled. Much of the waterline is along Puerto Rico Highway 191 and will require traffic control. Work includes the installation of a new 10,000-gallon concrete water storage tank. Work includes installation of waterline appurtenances such as air release valves, pressure regulating valve, water meters, waterline stream crossings, valves, valve boxes, hydrants, and other appurtenances to complete the work. General intent is for the waterline to be above ground when running through the general forest areas and below ground when running alongside the road and within administrative or recreation sites. Work does include horizontal directional drilling, replacement of concrete gutters, and asphalt patching. The work is divided into a base bid item, and two option items and they are as described below. Base Item: The general intent is to complete all work that is above and including the valve at Sierra Palm for the distribution line that goes to the new Yokahu water storage tank. Specifically, it includes the work from the Palo Colorado well to the Palo Colorado tank, from the Caimitillo well to the Caimitillo tank, the bypass line that connects the two systems, and the distribution lines to Stone House, Bano de Oro, Bano Grande, Palo Colorado, and Sierra Palm. Construction Option 1: The general intent of the item is to complete all work below the valve near the Sierra Palm bridge to and including the valve below the new 10,000-gallon concrete water storage tank. The work includes the bypass around the new water storage tank with the pressure reducing valve, the new water storage tank, and fencing. Construction Option 2: The general intent of the item is to complete all work below the valve at the new water storage tank to Yokahu Tower. Work includes a side lateral to the Big Tree site.
