- Description
- Clinic flexible endoscopes, Tele Packs, Cameras, and Scope boxes Statement of Work (SOW): Asheville VA Medical Center (VISN 6) requests to purchase 17 Storz flexible endoscope to replace our current supply. 17 sterilization boxes, 3 new Storz Tele Packs and 3 Storz Cameras are requested to allow for exam and image capture of our patients. The Charles George VAMC Urology surgeons request a replacement for the current flexible endoscope, camera, and Tele Pack system in the clinics. The current system can no longer be serviced by Storz. The Scopes have not been serviceable since March of 2022 and currently we have 4(of 17) damaged scopes that cannot be repaired. The replacement scopes are not compatible with the Tele Pack system and Camera. This equipment is vital for evaluation of otolaryngology patients for new cancer diagnosis, evaluation of sinuses, evaluation of vocal cords and voice disorders, evaluation of swallowing issues, evaluation of oral cavity neoplasms, and ongoing cancer surveillance. Image capture allows multiple services including radiation oncology, hematology oncology, and anesthesia to benefit from the information shown in these images. By replacing similar equipment, we should be able to integrate this into the current software with minimal disruption to patient access. Sole Source: Otolaryngology is familiar and trained on this equipment and upgrade. The current equipment is integrated with specific software that allows immediate uploading of images into CPRS after completion of the patient's visit. Sole source will allow the most seamless replacement with the least impact on patient care and access. Delivery/Pickup: Vendor is responsible for uncrating, assembling, and delivering to a specific location in the CGVAMC. Training: Minimal additional training is required of the Surgeons, Residents, or the clinic staff. We have all been trained on the scopes and telemetry packs in the past and have had updates on the new features available on the equipment requested.
