- Description
- Preventative Maintenance Agreement for Medtronic Emprint SX for the Department of Perioperative Medicine for the NIH Clinical Center Product Service Code: J066 Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892 POTS: 23-005917 Description This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a firm fixed price contract with a period of performance from August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024 on a sole source basis to Covidien Sales LLC DBA Given Imaging LLC to provide a preventative maintenance agreement for a Medtronic Emprint SX. The Emprint SX Ablation Platform with Thermosphere Technology gives you precise targeting accuracy with real-time 3-D ultrasound navigation. It is a cutting-edge, integrated surgical navigation and ablation platform that reduces procedural complexity and improves the targeting accuracy of soft tissue ablation. The projected antenna path allows trajectory planning prior to antenna placement. Ensuring that the unit has up to date software and is under a PMA is essential to the longevity of the Emprint unit and the success of the surgery. The proposed vendor Covidien Sales LLC DBA Given Imaging LLC is the only known company that has this type of technology and is able to repair or software update this unit. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements.
