The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requires a contractor to provide: Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 0001: The Contractor shall provide one (1) Carl Zeiss automated microscope complete with phase and fluorescence imaging in accordance with the following minimum requirements: Zeiss Axio Observer 7 body with transmitted light and phase condenser, and fully motorized components, including focus drive, optics, and filters Requirements: - 2.5x 0.085 NA - 5x 0.16 NA (phase) - 10x 0.3 NA (phase) - 20x 0.35 NA (phase) Filter sets for filter wheel to include common fluorophore spectra (e.g. DAPI, eCFP, FITC/GFP/Fluo4, TRITC/Cy3, Alexa568, Cy5, and Cy7) and 4-color multi-pass filter set for simultaneous visualization of DAPI+GFP+TRITC+Cy5 High resolution imaging system with 2 cameras (equivalent to Axiocam 712 mono and Hamamatsu ORCA Fusion) - Black and white camera (12 Mpix) with 14-bit, 20 fps high-resolution acquisition - Black and white camera (4 Mpix) with 16-bit, 89 fps full frame acquisition, selectable for continuous streaming of >1000 fps when limiting readout size, quantum efficiency > 70% We do not require software, a fluorescence light source, a motorized XY stage, or a incubation system. NIST conducted market research from October 2021 to May 2023 by participating in technical conference, searching GSA.gov, and contact with the manufacturer Zeiss to locate any potential resellers to determine what sources could meet NISTs minimum requirements. Zeiss confirmed in an email that Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC is the only USA reseller of the required microscope. The results of that market research revealed that only Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC; 1 N Broadway STE 1501, White Plains, NY10601-2335; UEI: H41JAKKNEXY1 appears to be capable of meeting NISTs requirements. However, any sources that believe they are capable of meeting NISTs minimum requirements are encouraged to respond to this notice by the response date to provide the following information at a minimum: Company Unique Entity Identifier number in https://sam.gov; details about what your company is capable of providing that meets or exceeds NISTs minimum requirements; whether your company is an authorized reseller of the product or service being cited and evidence of such authorization; and any other information that can help NIST determine whether this requirement may be competitively satisfied.
