Title:� BD FACSLyic Cytometer System Product Service Code: 6640 NAICS Code: 334516- Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing (Small Business Size Standards 1,000 Average Number of Employees) Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892 POTS: 23-007573 Description This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract to Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD Biosciences Business Unit) located in Franklin Lakes, JH 07417 on a sole source basis to provide quantity two (2) BD FACSLyric� Cytometer IOQ with two (2) BD Biosciences FACS Lyric Lyse Wash Assistant (LWA) Systems for the new Center for Cellular Engineering cGMP Facility at the NIH Clinical Center (CC). The purpose of this requirement is to acquire two BD FACSLyric� Cytometer system for the activation of the new Center for Cellular Engineering cGMP Facility. The facility will require two BD Biosciences FACS Lyric Flow Cytometer Analysis System with IOQ, two BD Biosciences FACS Lyric LWA System. The devices are need to ensure consistency and reproducibility of results and provide simplified program management. �These two BD Biosciences FACS Lyric Flow Cytometer Analysis System and two BD Biosciences FACS Lyric LWA will be used for product in-process and final product lot release assay at the CCE/Clinical Center 12E cGMP Clinical Cell Processing Facility. The new equipment must be compatible with existing government owned cytometers, reagents and consumables validated for patient testing, as well as the current software and the laboratory information system (LIS). Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD Biosciences Business Unit) is the sole manufacturer of the equipment, reagents, consumables, and are proprietary in nature.� BD Biosciences do not have any authorized distributors and the only known sole capable of meeting the government requirement in its entirety.� This requirement is for the purchase and installation of BD FACSLyric� Cytometer at the National Institutes of Health. Line Item: 0001 FACS FACSLyric /12 color�- Quantity 2 Line Item: 0002 FACS Lyse Wash Assistant (LWA)-Quantity 2 FOB Destination Place of Performance: National Institutes of Health Clinical Center 10 Center Drive Building 10, Room TBD Bethesda, MD 20892 This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 � Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.� Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting.
