- Description
- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Law Enforcement Bloomington, MN hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source, Blanket Purchase Agreement to the Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium located in Omaha, NE. This contract action is for commercial services under NAICS code 712310 Zoos and Botanical Gardens for which the agency intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302.1, Other than Full and Open Competition procedures and FAR 13.106-1(b) Simplified Acquisition procedures. The contract period is five (5) years with at five (5) year maximum estimated value of $200,000. This requirement is for intermittent housing, quarantine, care, and well-being of medium-large reptiles and amphibians to include venomous and non-venomous animals, birds, and certain mammals and aquatic species in the custody of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Work includes general care, cleaning, feeding, watering, rehabilitation and reporting on health assessments, treatments, and overall condition of animals accepted at the facility. The Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is located in close proximity to Des Moines, IA and its employees are uniquely qualified and permitted to possess and care for a wide range of species and subspecies while significant caging requirements for venomous and dangerous wildlife. The Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium has the ability to house animals whose habitat ranges from the desert to the high mountain rain forest. The Zoo offers the space and flexibility to receive various quantities of live animals at any given time, on an as needed basis and the Requesting Office requires the Zoo to be within a three to four hour driving distance from Des Moines, IA. This announcement constitutes the only notice. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Responses received from this solicitation will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the agency not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the agency. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement by Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF, which must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government and would not be cost or time prohibitive.
