Description

The MCIEast Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533, hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Stratsys� Inc., on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is to provide preventative and emergency maintenance as well as software updates to the Fortus 400mc and Fortus 900mc 3D printers. The preventative maintenance consist of evaluating, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating and testing the equipment. The emergency maintenance consist of repairing the equipment to return it to optimal operational capabilities. Market research has revealed that this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required services, as they use a proprietary process controls. Therefore, the Government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Stratsys Inc. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
