Title:� Illumina MiSeq DNA Sequencer Preventative Maintenance Service Product Service Code: J066-Maint/repair/rebuild Of Equipment- Instruments and Laboratory Equipment NAICS Code: 811210-Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance (Small Business Size Standards:� $34M Average Annual Receipts) Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892 POTS: 23-007570 Description:��This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center on behalf of the Department of Medicine Laboratory Services, Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) Lab intends to award a fixed price purchase order to Ilumina located in San Diego, California 92122-4616 on a sole source basis to preventative maintenance services for an Illumina MiSeq DNA sequencer for a one-year period plus one (1) four-month option. The contractor shall provide a full maintenance coverage that includes parts, labor and travel; Reagent replacement reagent replacement upon run failures; remote 24 hour/5 days a week technical support; on-site response target; control software updates and on-site applications support.� The MiSeq sequencer is used by the Human Leukocyte Antigen Lab for daily testing of transplant patients and donors. �The instrument is utilized to provide high resolution HLA typing results for multiple protocols at the NIH. Several of these protocols are for transplants.� A preventative maintenance agreement is required to ensure the instrument is operational and functional for use.� If the equipment is not maintained or operational it will negatively impact the test results. �Since the equipment is used repeatedly, the equipment needs to be fully functional at all times.� Illumina is the only known source capable of performing these services.� If any third-party performs any services on the equipment, it will void any original equipment manufacturer warranties.� Only trained and authorized Illumina service technicians are the known source capable of performing these services. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 � Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106-1(b) for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold of $250,000.00. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
