- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Kognito LLC The Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (DCPC)s guiding aspirations are 1) eliminating preventable cancers, 2) all people getting the right screening at the right time for the best outcome, and 3) cancer survivors live longer, healthier lives. DCPC funds and disseminates educational material to reach these aspirations. DCPC has funded and maintained is a series of online simulations produced and hosted by Kognito LLC (web address is Kognito.com) that further these aspirations. The cancer-education simulations that DCPC created with Kognito LLC are hosted on web servers by Kognito LLC and are available at Kognito.com and also through website linkage at Cancer Simulations | CDC. Kognito LCC is an organization that builds education simulations featuring virtual humans that are designed for online access. These cancer simulations feature interactive experiences with these virtual humans to promote education about cancer-related topics. Users can access these simulations for free if they have access to the internet such as on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Some of these simulations are targeted to the general public and some of these simulations are targeted towards providers to help them in their interactions with their patients on covered topics. These simulations feature a variety of cancer topics including guidance for cancer survivors, for people eligible for prostate cancer screening, for people with prostate cancer and weighing treatment decisions, and for diagnosis and treatment options for triple negative breast cancer. Some of the simulations targeted towards providers also include pre-and post-tests that can be completed for continuing medical education (CME) or continuing nursing education (CNE) that providers need to maintain their license. For the prostate cancer simulations, Kognito also provides usage reports that describe web metrics for usage of the simulation. The purpose of this contract is to continue funding web hosting of these simulations. The objectives are to: Provide funding to maintain select simulations so that they continue to be available on the Kognito.com website (which will allow CDC to link to the CDC cancer website). Renew CME accreditation for two of the prostate cancer simulations and continue one of the cancer survivor simulations so that CME and CNE credits can continue to be obtained. Continue web metric reporting for the prostate cancer modules. The performance objectives will be to complete CME re-accreditation, continue to host specific simulations on the Kognito.com so that they can continue to be available on the CDC website, continue to make sure that CME and CNE activity is available as specified, and produce web metric reports as has been done previously. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at qsx8@cdc.gov by COB 5, June 27, 2023.
