A solicitation document will NOT be issued, and quotations will NOT be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract to Haemonetics Corporation of Boston, Massachusetts 02110 on a sole source basis to procure the following items: Catalog Number�������� Quantity��������� Item Description 07-690-US����������������� 1�������������������� TEG 6S US UNIT PACK 118034-00������������������ 1�������������������� Printer, USB 118332-00������������������ 1�������������������� Scanner, Area-Imaging��������� The purpose of this requirement is to procure a TEG� 5000 Hemostasis Analyzer with two channels, and an installation kit that converts the analog input from the instrument to digital output. The vendor shall supply the necessary instrumentation and user instructions/manuals for the TEG 6s hemostasis analyzer with two channels, an installation kit for analog to digital data conversion, cables, software, and install in instrumentation in the Hematology Service. The chosen company delivers the instrumentation to DLM, located at 10 Center Dr. Bldg. 10 Room 2C-301, Bethesda, MD, 20892 (inside delivery) and will assist in setting up the piece of equipment. The instrument must be compatible with 1.0 GHz Pentium III processor, 256MB RAM, COM Port (9-pin RS232 Serial Port), and Windows 2000 or Windows XP graphical user interface software, and come with a 3-year warranty. The proposed vendor, Haemonetics Corporation, is the sole manufacturer of the TEG� 5000 Hemostasis Analyzer. The reagents, consumables, and equipment are proprietary. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 � Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.� Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
