The Government proposes to acquire, on a 5 year Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery Requirements (IDR)-type contract, a minimum quantity of 10 each with a total estimated annual demand of 50 each, CANISTER ASSEMBLY,P, NSN: 2915-01-179- 4177, Part Number: H15369 applicable to the A-BJ APACHE weapon system. The estimated Production Lead Time without First Article Testing, 540 Days After Contract Award (DACA) with deliveries to CORPUS CHRISTI, TX. This item is restricted to: MEGGITT DEFENSE SYSTEMS, INC., Cage Code 62228. The data needed to acquire this part competitively is not physically available, it cannot be obtained economically, nor is it possible to draft adequate specifications or any other adequate, economical description of the material for a competitive solicitation. This part must be acquired, for the second or subsequent time, directly from the actual manufacturer. The rights to use the data needed to purchase this part from additional source(s) are not owned by the Government and cannot be purchased, developed, or otherwise obtained. As a result, this acquisition is currently being procured under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2) having only a limited number of responsible sources. All offerors must meet prequalification requirements in order to be eligible for award. Firms that recognize and can produce the required item described above are encouraged to identify themselves.
