- AMENDMENT #1� 21 Jun 2023-Level A Kappler Hazmat Suit Questions and Answers dated 16 Jun 2023 are hereby published along with revisions to the following: COMBO -Changes in COMBO are identified in red text. ��(b)(4)Factor I- Technical.� �Changed Part Number �Z5H580� to correct part number �Z5H582� Updated requirement for the suits color to be �Charcoal.�� Changed preferred NFPA from �NFPA 1994� to meet or exceed �NFPA 1990.� ATTACHMENT 1 Clause Update Added clause �52.204-27 Prohibition on a ByteDance Covered Application.� **************************************************************************************************************************************************** This acquisition is a new Enterprise purchase for the USAF in support of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center. It will include Level A HAZMAT suits that are used by CXR Emergency Management units. The Item numbers, description and projected quantities are listed below: PN:Z5H582 MFR:KAPPLER Product Name: Z5H580 KAPPLER LEVEL A SUIT, ZYTRON 500 QTY: 135 (75 Small/Medium) (59 Large/ XL) (1 5XL) Products are commercial off the shelf (COTS) and commercial data sheets are readily available via Internet. The Level A suit is a personal protective equipment to protect against hazardous chemicals and substances that National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) uses. NFPA requires the suits to meet this criteria: Provide the highest level of skin, respiratory, and eye protection. Be a fully encapsulated chemical-resistant suit with a positive pressure, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Provide protection against chemical vapors, gases, mists, and liquid splashes. Have a minimum total heat loss of 300 W/m2. Be certified to meet or exceed the requirements of NFPA 1991, Standard on Vapor-Protective Ensembles for Hazardous Materials Emergencies.
