- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION for� a firm fixed price purchase order to Abbott Molecular. Abbott Molecular will be responsible for providing various reagents and kits for the Abbott m2000 system used for Surveillance and Test Demonstration within the HIV Diagnostics Team used in the lab. Abbott Molecular is the manufacturer of the Abbott m2000 used in the research conducted by the HIV Diagnostics Team, DHP Laboratory. The instrument is key in evaluating alternative options for HIV point of care nucleic acid testing in support of efforts for Ending the HIV Epidemic in the US. Reagents and amplification kits are needed to continue ongoing testing on the m2000 system.Other products are not compatible and not approved for use on the Abbott m2000 system. Abbott reagent and amplification kits are exclusive for the system and are the only products FDA-approved for running viral load tests on the system. Other kits and consumables will not work so cannot be considered. The Abbott m2000 system reagents and amplification kits are only available directly from Abbott Molecular. They are not available through any other vendors who meet our requirements. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) �and 10 U.S.C. 3406. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at cbp0@cdc.gov by COB 12 July, 2023.
