- Description
- Warfighter Expeditionary Medicine and Treatment Project Management Office (WEMT PMO) of the United States Army Medical Materiel Development Activity (USAMMDA) has a requirement to field a solution in the near term of a device with an U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) indication for the temporary closure and stabilization of suspected full-thickness corneal injuries due to eye lacerations, penetrations, and/or perforations. The goal of this RFI is to canvas the research and market space for mature Technology Readiness Level 6 or above (TRL 6+) non-surgical medical devices that can preserve the integrity of ocular tissue, used by medical personnel with limited additional training and equipment, meet our delivery timeline and can stabilize eye injuries for 3 days or longer before definitive repair by an Ophthalmologist. The acquisition program, Temporary Corneal Repair (TCR), is interested in learning about mature products that are conducting or preparing to demonstrate safety and efficacy in a clinical population. Please see the attached Request for Information (RFI) and Attachments 1 and 2.
