- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to BIOCENTRIC, INC for the Serious Health Game to Support Lifestyle Change Program for Diabetes Prevention Final Report. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Diabetes Prevention Partnership (DPP), a partnership of public and private organizations, is working to prevent or delay development of type 2 diabetes among high-risk populations by encouraging adoption of healthy lifestyles. Improving retention and participation in Lifestyle Change Programs is one way to help maximize and sustain intervention effects, and this is supported by evidence that body weight and physical activity outcomes are directly related to the overall number of Program sessions attended. Increasing engagement of persons living with prediabetes and at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes via the CDC National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Lifestyle Change Program of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP). Development and evaluation of innovative methods, tools, and strategies to help participants adopt and maintain healthier habits as part of the National DPP to increase retention and effectiveness. The National DPP has identified several strategies used by the Lifestyle Change Program to assist with participant retention, one of which is the use of interactive games to keep participants engaged in sessions. Engaging high-risk populations is a challenge and the ever-increasing popularity of games on mobile phones and other platforms provides an opportunity. Following the contractors previous work to design, develop, and launch and test a serious health game, accessible via mobile and web applications, for high-risk patients to promote and extend the National DPP Lifestyle Change Program to lower the risk of developing diabetes. The contractor will write a final report complete with comprehensive analysis of the data and total project and include recommendations for other community-based organizations looking to utilize a similar approach. BIOCENTRIC, INC Task 1: Program Wrap up, and closeout 1.�������� Complete all analysis and prepare a written summary report of findings, complete with recommendations 2.�������� Present findings to CDC, and make any final adjustments necessary 3.�������� Contractor will develop implementation plan, dissemination plan, analytics plan, and social media plan, and deliver to CDC. Thus, BIOCENTRIC, INC has been identified as the only vendor that can meet all the requirements to complete the tasks of the project and deliver the best value to the government. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.� A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at qsx8@cdc.gov by COB 5pm Est, July 14, 2023
