- Description
- Army Program Manager for Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (PM FARA) Request for Information (RFI) Disclaimer This is a Request for Information (RFI) synopsis. This RFI is for planning purposes only. This is NOT a request for Quotations or Proposals. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. In accordance with FAR 15.202 (e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Government will not reimburse costs incurred by Respondent in response to this RFI or for participating in information exchange regarding details of the RFI. Responses may include data that the respondent does not want disclosed to the public for any purpose or used by the Government except for informational purposes. However, please note that the Government and its Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contractors will review the responses to this RFI. Synopsis The current multi-domain operational environment presents a highly lethal and complex set of traditional and non-traditional threats. These threats include networked and mobile air defense systems with extended ranges, and long and mid-range fires systems that will deny freedom of maneuver. Army rotary wing platforms must maintain situation awareness of these complex threats in order to fulfill mission objectives. In order to address the complexities of this environment, existing technology enablers on current platforms include Radar Warning Receivers (RWR) that have the capability to detect and identify a large range of emitters in a wide spectrum, as well as Radio Frequency Interferometers (RFInt) that have the capability of geolocating emitters within a high degree of accuracy. An adequate RWR system needs to be able to process multiple complex signal modulations and types, as well as sort and track varying waveform characteristics to correctly identify and classify threat systems. In an effort to streamline the number of on-board RF protection systems, and achieve Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) savings for existing and future Army rotary wing platforms, the Army Project Manager for Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (PM FARA) is assessing the feasibility of combining the RWR and RFInt functions into a single solution. -For any questions related to the release of the RFI, please contact Dewayne Holland (Contract Specialist) via email @ dewayne.e.holland.civ@army.mil.DO NOT SEND ANY CLASSIFIED INFORMATION to this email address. Responses are expected to be classified SECRET. The method of submission shall be submitted through SIPR e-mail both eamon.b.boyle.civ@mail.smil.mil and ashley.m.pallotta.civ@mail.smil.mil. Submissions can also be made by mailing a classified CD in accordance with the attachment 4. - Please see attached documents for complete details. Attachments: This notice contains four attachments.
