- FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Norfolk District, intends to procure on a sole source or brand name or equal basis, several components in support of the upcoming roadway improvement construction project for Sheridan Drive, Wilson Drive, and McClellan Drive at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC).� The construction project will be procured via a separate SAM notice to be published later, estimated for July 2023. This supported construction project consists of components that USACE intends to require for specific systems product line. The manufacturer�s products have unique capabilities that meet the user�s stringent requirements for compatibility with existing systems and required performance in historic preservation masonry activities. Unless indicated to be as a� ��brand name or equal requirement, the companies listed in the table below are the only manufacturers in the industry that manufacture components to meet required specifications and warranty requirements and maintain compatibility with existing systems. Due to the unique operational requirements, the user requires a homogeneous system that reduces the risk to compatibility/interoperability with existing systems already tested and in use. The Contracting Officer intends to prepare a Justification and Approval documentation (J&A) which includes brand name (BN) or brand name or equal (BNE) items for the solicitation package. �Items identified as BN or BNE under FAR 6.302-1 and DFARS 206.302-1 are included to sufficiently define the scope of work to be performed, and adequately establish the required level of product quality: Model Number / Product Manufacturer Description Varies, Irrigation System Control Panel and Sprinkler Heads Hunter Industries Irrigation System to be integrated with existing system. D/2 Biological Solution D/2 Biological Solutions, Inc. Cleaning solution for general cleaning to prepare masonry for repair work for historical preservation purposes.� Cleaner will not affect masonry appearance. Light Duty Cleaner, Heavy Duty Cleaner Cathedral Stone Products, Inc. Cleaning solution for specialty cleaning of heavily soiled masonry for repair work for historical preservation purposes.� Cleaner will not affect masonry appearance. Jahn M80 Anchor Setting Mortar Cathedral Stone Products, Inc . Mortar used for masonry repair, required for historical preservation purposed to match existing mortar. Natural Cement Century National Cement Mortar used for masonry repair, required for historical preservation purposed to match existing mortar. All potential responsible sources wishing to demonstrate ability to meet the agency�s requirements may submit a written response with technical capabilities statement, which if timely received, will be considered by the agency. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability of other qualified sources that can meet the requirements identified above. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this notice of intent. This Notice of Intent is hereby published in accordance with FAR 5.201. A determination by the Government not to compete the elements of the project listed in the table above based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Norfolk District will consider any responses to this notice received prior to the due date and time of this notice.
