- Description
- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This is NOT a solicitation, but market research to determine potential sources for services that meet the general requirement outlined below for a Virtual Special Operations Proficiency Platform (VSOPP). A VSOPP is based on XR technology and is suited for maintenance technical readiness training applications and field deployment to build technical competency. The VSOPP will be a cloud-based software platform that digitizes tasks and allows technicians to interactively practice tasks in a virtual environment prior to task performance on an aircraft or support equipment. Adapting and integrating XR technology will arm units with easily accessible software solutions for skill-level upgrade and proficiency training to lower risk, standardize training, reduce on-aircraft training reequipments, and expand a technicians basic and advanced training for AFSOCs multi-mission capable aircraft. VSOPP is an operational tool designed for field units and will include XR environment platform capability to enhance proficiency by allowing trainers to train technicians to a baseline standard, both in a classroom environment and for periods of self-study outside of the classroom prior to performing the task on an aircraft, if even required due to the level of detail provided by the XR architecture. This mitigates risk associated with trainer shortfalls in units and allows the technology to track progress and report performance metrics to the trainer during task qualification. It also reduces the need to repetitively perform on-aircraft task for qualification, which extends component life and reduces unscheduled maintenance. Industry Day(s): The Industry Day will take place during the week of 31 July 4 August 2023. The specific days will depend on the number of vendor responses. Additional information is located in the attachment titled, ""A4M Virtual Special Operations Proficiency Platform (VSOPP)""
