Description
OCMU COLLECTION CONDITION SURVEY This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format outlined in FAR Subpart 12.6, FAC 2005-87 and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The resultant contract will be awarded using negotiated procedures in accordance with FAR 13. This is a total small business set aside in accordance with FAR 19-502-2. The principle NAICS is 712110, Museums and size standard is $34M. The National Park Service, Interior Region 2, South Atlantic Gulf has a requirement for an on-site visit by a professional conservator or conservators to complete a Collection Condition Survey and preservation rehousing for museum collections associated with Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park (OCMU). The project includes survey of objects in storage at the park�s primary curatorial storage room in the OCMU Visitor Center in Macon, Georgia. The collections to be surveyed are stored in museum cabinets or loose on pallets (for oversize materials). Material types include: ceramic, textile (animal hide and fabric), metal, and composite wood and metal. Objects requiring preservation rehousing include whole and mended ceramic vessels. The purpose of the work is to: 1) conduct an on-site Collection Condition Survey (CCS) for all objects in storage cabinets and pallets at OCMU, 2) produce a report that: identifies the conservation and preservation needs of individual objects, and 3) conduct preservation rehousing of 15-20 whole/mended ceramic vessels, and an ethnographic cougar pelt. The solicitation number assigned to this requirement is 140P5123Q0047. The solicitation is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price Contract to the offeror that provides the best value without discussions in accordance with FAR 13. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which if timely received, shall be considered by the Agency. Companies must have valid UEI number and be registered with System for Award Management (www.sam.gov). SAM.gov offers free services. An offeror must ensure that they are self-certified under NAICS Code 712110 in the Representations and Certifications portion of SAM.gov.
