Description
Eglin Air Force Base (AFB), FL has a requirement to provide all construction efforts required to renovate Building 2579 and return the facility to a fully functional Child Development Center. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a size standard of $45M. Statement of Magnitude is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. This requirement will be competed as a Small Business Set-Aside in accordance with FAR 19.5.The purpose of this project is to renovate the existing Child Development Center (CDC), Building 2579, and return the facility to a fully functional CDC. Work includes selective demolition of existing interior construction, finishes and modifications to child activity rooms, offices, corridor, and restrooms. Also included are the replacement of the existing HVAC and electrical system, construction of new parking and stormwater management area, and plumbing system modification. The CDC promotes healthy growth and development of children and provide support for families by providing high quality, developmentally appropriate and flexible care through range of care options. Facility Standards are required to gain better entry/exit security control; monitoring, modify existing floor plan for better teaching teaming arrangements; improve aesthetic appearances and gain more efficiencies in facility layout. Existing floor plan does not meet current needs of organization and floor area needs modernization and updating to meet current CDC/Air Force and applicable code requirements. The project will comply with applicable DoD, Air Force, and base standards with Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) 3-535-01 as the lead guidance document. The performance period is anticipated to be 365 days after the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The above general description of work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and furnish all labor, materials, and equipment in accordance with the specifications.
