- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. This is not a request for competitive proposals/quotes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), hereby announces its intent to issue a sole source order/contract to Daikin Applied Americas INC. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 333415- Air Conditioning and Warm Air Heating Equipment and Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturing, with a size standard of 1,250 employees. Purpose: Two (2) Daikin McQuay WME 700 chillers have had many faults last cooling season causing the chillers to shutdown unexpectedly. The chillers shut down and must be manually reset to restart. This was also causing the facility to have increased hot calls due to the chillers being unreliable and shutting down. Due to ongoing research at the facility, it is paramount this issue is corrected before it affects research. The purpose of this acquisition is to fix these chiller faults that are causing the chillers to trip offline unexpectedly and increase their reliability and facility readiness. Government expects this to fix chiller faults that were determined by the manufacture to be the cause of the problem. Contractor will supply all parts and labor to correct determined faults. Scope of Work Daikin Applied will supply service and repairs for two (2) Daikin McQuay WME 700 chillers. Contractor will do the following. Provide and install two (2) Pressure Transducer connector cables Provide and install two (2) Pressure Transducers Replace six (6) Steering Bridge IGBT�s (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) on Chiller #3 Verify Proper Operation of Chiller #2 & #3 Update software to allow software to look at evaporator pressure first then suction pressure A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and is solely in the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov. This action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotations. This is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will review any/all product, capabilities, and pricing information submitted prior to the closure of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
