- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Wide Area Network (WAN) Project Team requires 15 brand name Cisco Systems, Inc. (Cisco) WAN routers, hardware modules, and license subscriptions to support VA WAN System Baseline requirements throughout the enterprise. The routers will be used at various VA Clinics, Veterans Centers, and Veterans Benefit Administration locations throughout the United States (US) based on need. This procurement is intended to replace existing end of life (EOL) WAN routers at various VA locations across the US, while also increasing bandwidth capabilities beyond the existing EOL routers. VA has outlined a multiyear course of action to continuously replace these EOL routers and associated peripherals to guarantee that the refresh is conducted while ensuring the various VA locations can connect to WAN utilizing Cisco Group Encrypted Transport Virtual Private Networking. All installation/configuration shall be performed by VA staff. No installation services are required by the Contractor for this effort. Maintenance of the routers is not required since VA has an umbrella Cisco Enterprise Support Agreement that covers all Cisco branded WAN router network, telephony, unified communications and unified server hardware and software. Delivery of equipment shall be no later than 120 days after award. Additionally, this procurement includes optional items for up to 337 WAN routers, hardware modules and licensing. The optional items may be exercised anytime, from time to time, within 36 months from date of award. See attached the Justification for an Exception to Fair Opportunity for Cisco Wide Area Network Routers, Hardware Modules and Associated Software License Subscriptions
