Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract for 60 Commscope Antenna Standoffs, part number S-300�36 inch tower standoffs, for use with NOAA Weather Radio antenna assemblies�in accordance with the Statement of Need for National Logistics Support Center in Grandview, MO. The Governments intends to make an award to the responsive responsible quoter providing the lowest price technically acceptable in accordance with FAR 13.106-2(B)(3). Brand Name:This product is proprietary to Commscope. Substitutes are not available as this is a proprietary product. The S-300 is required because the standoff assemblies being procured must be form, fit, function and environmentally compatible with the other NWR antenna standoffs already installed at fielded sites, which are also model S-300 assemblies. The original equipment (Commscope S-300) has been determined to meet stringent qualification and environmental testing requirements the NWR program established for its antenna assemblies. Acceptance of any item other than the Commscope brand would require additional extensive evaluation and qualification, which NWS does not have the time nor funding to perform. DOC, Eastern Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). No award can be made to a company not registered in SAM. Contractors active in SAM have a unique entity identifier (UEI) that is used to do business with the federal government. The Government has moved to a free new, non-proprietary identifier that will have to be requested in, and assigned by, the System for Award Management (SAM.gov).
