- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - New England District is issuing Solicitation Notice for Dam Spillway Fusegate Lifting & Maintenance Services, Otter Brook Lake, Keene, NH. THE WORK CONSISTS OF:Contractor shall provide lifting and maintenance services of two (2) spillway Fusegates (Fusegates 1 and 2 only) at Otter Brook Dam. Fusegates 1 and 2 shall be lifted individually off the concrete sill to break any bond that may have developed, and contractor shall perform any maintenance deemed necessary in the Fusegates Operation and Maintenance Manual Rev. C (will be available with the solicitation) to Fuesgates 1 and 2.Maintenance includes clearing debris from the downstream drain holes, the inlet well, and debris from the uplift chamber located at the base of the Fusegates. The Fusegates are designed to overtop and travel downstream during a high flow event such as a PMF, reducing the spillway crest elevation and effectively increasing the amount of discharge that can be released from the spillway without causing overtopping of the dam. Lifting shall be performed with four (4) jacking shoes and other lifting equipment (hydraulic pump, hydraulic cylinders, etc.) present at the Otter Brook Field Office in Keene, NH.Calibration and testing of all lifting equipment will be required prior to lifting of the Fusegates. The joint seal system consisting of rubber seals and steel plates between each Fusegate will have to be removed prior to lifting and re-installed after lifting.A report documenting the work performed including the condition/testing of the equipment, procedure for lifting, removal/re-installation of the joint seal system, maintenance performed, and the loads needed to raise each Fusegate shall be produced. This procurement is set-aside for small business vendors. The applicable NAICS code is 541990 with a Small Business Size Standard of $19.5 Million. ALL VENDORS MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE REGISTRATION IN SAM.GOV AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED. ANY VENDOR THAT DOES NOT HAVE AN ACTIVE SAM.GOV REGISTRATION WILL BE REJECTED AS NON RESPONSIVE.
