- This Request for Information (RFI) is issued by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) for informational, market research, and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. No contract award will be made based on any responses to this notice. The Government is not responsible for any costs associated with providing information in response to this RFI and no reimbursement will be made for any cost associated with effort expended in responding to this notice. Submission of proprietary information is not requested and respondents shall refrain to the maximum extent practical from providing proprietary information in response to this RFI. If respondents volunteer to provide proprietary information, clearly mark such proprietary information appropriately and separate it from the unrestricted information as an appendix. Responses to the RFI must be received no later than August 4, 2023 Inquiries/information received after the established deadline shall NOT be considered for this acquisition. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Background and Purpose The USCG seeks to identify potential sources for the procurement of mission critical spare propulsion line shaft bearings for the National Security Cutter (NSC), 418� Maritime Security Cutter, Large (WMSL) fleet. The equipment identified in the attached Statement of Work (SOW) and SOW Attachment is manufactured by Michell Bearings as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). This equipment is part of the integrated NSC propulsion system design solution, the basis of which was developed through a previous open competition contract and is currently installed on NSCs 5 through 9 and planned for installation on NSCs 10 and 11. As part of the integrated propulsion system design solution, the USCG may require the following equipment as NSC mission critical spares: Quantity two (2) NB/1/243163 Michell Centre Flange Mounted NPL 4 Naval Plummer Bearing Water Cooled, NSN 3130996698197. Quantity two (2) NB/1/243165 Michell Pedestal Mounted NPL 4 Naval Plummer Bearing Water Cooled, NSN 3130996698197. � Certificate of Conformance affirming bearings manufactured in accordance with OEM specifications. Bearing test and inspection reports. Bearing preservation, packaging, and packing in accordance with MIL-DTL-2845E(SH) requirements. Bearings shipment to USCG warehouse. In the future, the Government intends to solicit and award one firm-fixed price contract to Michell Bearings, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). However, companies that have the capability to provide the required part numbers and are able to perform all aspects of the draft SOW and SOW Attachment may submit their capabilities to the USCG for consideration.� Companies that respond to this notice must fully demonstrate a bona fide capability to meet the requirements, as detailed in the draft SOW.� The USCG is reviewing this for informational purposes and the submitted information will not result in a contract with the USCG. REQUESTED INFORMATION: 1. A capability statement detailing the company�s ability to deliver all required equipment (parts numbers as specified). Include previous contract information where these parts have been provided to the Government and/or commercial customers. 2. A statement describing the biggest challenges your company would face in working to perform this requirement.
