- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO) has a requirement for two (2) Cisco Nexus 9508 core/distribution Ethernet switches (each equipped with two (2) Supervisor B+ modules), twenty-four (24) Cisco Nexus 9336 top-of-the-rack Ethernet switches, and two (2) Cisco Nexus 93180 switches, with associated firmware, cables, and three (3) year features license. For maintenance services, the switches are covered under VA Enterprise Cisco contract number 94365522. The Government requires the Cisco Nexus 9508 core/distribution Ethernet switches and the Cisco Nexus 9336 top-of-the-rack Ethernet switches to create an upgraded network infrastructure that is standardized in alignment with the existing Cisco-based Ethernet network infrastructure at the Austin Information Technology Center (AITC); accommodates expedient transport and storage of a growing volume of patient data; and eliminates single points of failure. The Government requires the Cisco Nexus 93180 access switches for use as fallback devices in the event that one of the existing Cisco Nexus 93180 access switches experiences a problem and must be replaced immediately. The Government also requires professional network and cabling installation services to migrate from the existing Cisco Nexus 9504 core/distribution network configuration to a collapsed core Cisco Nexus 9508 network configuration. These services shall include replacing the Mellanox switches that currently comprise the access portion of the network with Cisco Nexus 9336 switches and replacing the cabling between the core and access switches. In addition to removing existing Cisco Nexus 9504 switches and Mellanox access switches and racking, stacking, cabling, powering on and configuring the new Cisco switches, the installation services shall include end-to-end validation and testing to ensure that the solution was successfully implemented within the environment according to VAs success criteria; day after support to ensure network connectivity between network devices and the server environment; knowledge transfer; and an as-built site diagram.
