Statement of Work for Warranty Extension for Envisu R2210 1.1�� BACKGROUND The main mission of NEI Visual Function Core is to use established and innovative techniques for measuring visual function in animal models.� Envisu R2210 OCT system made by Leica microsystems is one of the key instruments in the core facility, which can acquire ultra-high resolution OCT images from live intact eyes.� Ability to non-invasively monitor structure and signal of the eye follow them in subsequent examines will great expend our knowledge and understanding of visual function under normal and diseased conditions. 1.2�� PURPOSE To extend the warranty of Envisu R2210 OCT system made by Leica microsystems 1.3�� ANTICIPATED BENEFITS Envisu R2210 OCT system will enable researchers to acquire ultra-high resolution OCT images from live intact eyes.� Currently, 15 NEI research groups and 5 research groups from other NIH ICs have actively used VFC facility, and study eyes of various animal models.� � 1.4�� SOFTWARE OR TECHNOLOGY PRODUCTS PROPOSED Software is included in the purchase. 1.5�� BUSINESS PROCESSES IMPACTED Envisu R2210 OCT system is complementary to other existing equipment in the facility to measure visual function, addition of this instrument will enhance our capacity to service vision research community across NIH campus. 1.6�� CUSTOMERS / END USERS IMPACTED Because of its small footprint and speedy capture time, NEI Principal Investigators and scientific support staff will all be positively affected by the availability of Envisu R2210 OCT system in their workflow. �
