- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to post the answers to questions received during the solicitation process and extend the closing date. Closing date is changed from 7/26/2023 at 16:00 EST to 7/28/2023 at 16:00 EST. Questions and Answers Can the end user share photos of the area/room where the storage system will be installed? Posted below. Is there a current storage system in place that will need to be removed? Hauled/Disposed? There is a current system in place, but VA engineering will be doing the demo. Vendor will have empty space to work in. If there is a current storage system in place, can the end user share photos, brand names, dimensions, and specs? Photos included below. Are there minimum specifications for the new laboratory storage system? Or preferred brand name? See SOW and Salient Characteristics. No brand is preferred. New storage system must NOT have handles or electronic gears to move shelving. Operation should be achieved by light touch by operator along track system. What sort of laboratory items will be stored in the system (pathology, equipment, disposables, etc)? Sterile Supplies, Heme, Chemistry and Blood Bank reagents including heavy cubes of saline, and stains. Shelving should be heavy duty and adjustable easily by lab personnel to accommodate different size items. Is there a minimum load capacity requirement for the new system? None stated by Laboratory. Must hold large and heavy items, so heavy duty would be ideal. How many shelves are required? To be determined, no exact quantity, but they should fit into available space with room for center aisle. What will be stored on these shelves? Reagent cubes, heavy boxes, extra laboratory equipment Do you require open shelves or closed shelves like cabinets apart from the plexiglass storage of sterile items? A mixture of both is required. For Sterile Processing, they require shelves with closable doors of some type. The rest of the shelving will be open access, no doors, etc.
